San Francisco is hosting the Big Game this year so we are upping our festivities and hosting a waffle bar. Waffles are easy because you can make them in advance (even freeze them) and just reheat them all in the oven before your guests arrive. I’m also sharing my family’s secret recipe that everyone raves over when we serve waffles or pancakes.
For our waffle bar we serve a few different kinds of syrups, lots of fruit, butter and instead of whip cream we do a sour cream and brown sugar mixture that is so sweet and tangy our guests always beg to know the recipe. My Italian grandmother used to make it with her strawberries. It’s really simple. You take about a cup of Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream and add 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar and mix. We add a nice big dollop with fruit and it adds a really nice tangy layer instead of the usual plain butter and syrup. It’s a crowd favorite!
This post is brought to you by Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream. Squeeze more out of the Big Game with a #DollopOfDaisy.

I love this idea! I think I say that on every one of your posts, but seriously… Freezing waffles ahead of time is a great idea. I cannot wait to buy a deep freezer to try and find a place in the house to fit it into so that I can start doing things like this. The brown sugar and sour cream really make sense, too. I will have to try that. I hate going to restaurants where they give you the hugest pile of the greasiest, unhealthiest looking butter on top of whatever you order… I need to remember to ask them to leave it off! http://www.enchantinglyemily.com

I graduated from UC Berkeley, and so did all my siblings. At every graduation afterward they had strawberries that you could dip in sour cream and then brown sugar. This brought back those memories;) I’ll have to incorporate this into my lineup!

This is the best idea! I’m not hosting our Super Bowl party this year, but I’m definitely bookmarking this idea for another occasion. Who doesn’t love eating breakfast foods at a party?!
