We’ve been partnering with Blue Apron for the past year. I’m a huge fan of their program. You can check out the first time I tried them here (and get my favorite Blue Apron fish taco recipe here!) Lately, we’ve been using their family plan which is perfect for cooking with kids. With the family plan, you can opt for 1-2 deliveries of 2 meals a week and each meal feeds 4 people. But after using the family plan for a few weeks, we also realized it was great meal option for…
…small dinner parties with other couples! We love having people over for dinner, but sometimes it’s overwhelming to choose a meal, purchase supplies, and then cook before the guests arrive. With Blue Apron, all the supplies for the meal are delivered straight to our door in a refrigerated box (which means no frantic last minute trips to the grocery store.) And I know that all their recipes will be delicious: they’re created by professional chefs using super fresh and in-season ingredients. They also usually only take about 40 minutes to prepare – which makes weeknight dinners with friends a possibility. This week we made the Star Anise & Soy-Glazed Cod, but I’m also really excited to try the Spring Miso Ramen and Baked Empanadas.
If we decide to go on vacation or we know a busy season is coming up, we can easily skip a few weeks or cancel at any time. Blue Apron has really been a lifesaver for us. If you haven’t tried them yet, today you can get 2 free meals! Just click here to sign up. (Available for the first 100 readers.)

What a wonderful idea! I don’t know why but it never would have come to me. I’ve been meaning to try out Blue Apron for a while now, such an awesome idea.

Another great way to use Blue Apron is for weekend getaways. During the warmer months, we ditch town for our family cabin quite frequently and we recently started taking our Blue Apron meals with us. We have them delivered on a Friday and dinner is taken care of all weekend long. We don’t even open the box until we arrive at the cabin. It’s amazing how cold and fresh everything stays! Even though we still have to plan for other meals and snacks throughout the day, it’s amazing how helpful it is to know that dinners are always covered. Not to mention, the food is really great.
