Last week we hosted 2 events at the Oh Happy Day studio for my friends Erin Jang and Steph Hung their new book Make & Give. The first was a Craft Night and the second was a Book Party! They were so fun and we had such a good time. Make & Give is full of super original ideas you won’t find on Pinterest. It is one of the best craft books out there right now and if you don’t have one get one! Click through below to see the whole event!
Special thanks to Folio Books from bringing copies of Make & Give to the book party and to Rebecca Wright for help planning the event. Blick Art Materials provided the carve blocks, aluminum rulers, cutting mats, and awls so all the Craft Night attendees could make their own Tangrams!
We used these perfect Baby Baggus (in the HAPPY pattern) to hold our goodie bags items for the craft night. I love keeping one of these in my purse in case I ever need an extra bag while I’m out and about.
Martha Stewart Crafts makes the best scissors (they are my favorite crafting scissors). So I was really excited that every craft night attendee received a pair of their Detail Scissors (which are perfect for recreating the DIYs in Make & Give.)
Museum Nails sent over a bunch of nail art sets that Erin Jang designed for them. I’m obsessed with the fruit-themed set!
I also LOVE the custom “Make & Give” tags that Various Keytags sent over. Their website is amazing and I’m already brainstorming all the Key Tag ideas I want to customize.
These clever notecards were designed by Erin Jang for Paperless Post. You can find all of her cards here. And from now through January 31, Paperless Post is offering a 20% discount on everything for all Oh Happy Day readers! Just use this code at checkout: Ohhappyday20
These giant pencils were sent over by The Land of Nod. Aren’t they amazing? They’d make such a cute April Fool’s joke!
The final goodies in our Craft Night bags were provided by Meri Meri. They sent over the cutest matching napkins and cups! The colors on these are SO good.
At the Book Party, we gave everyone the chance to make their own scratch-off cards! These are fun because you can write secret messages on a piece of paper, put a scratch-off label over it, and then give to your friends to scratch off the message inside. We got the scratch-off labels from My Scratch Offs and all the envelopes from Paper Source.
Dim Sum King made a bunch of Egg Tarts for the Book Party. I’d never had one before, but they’re really amazing.
Finally, all the wine for the event was provided by Jamieson Ranch Vineyards. Their Light Horse Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were a huge hit! I couldn’t recommend them more.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, we had a great time!

The pencils don’t look big in your picture so it was surprising to see how giant they are on the Land of Nod site. Very cute.

I’m so surprised you’ve never had a Chinese egg custard tart since you live in San Francisco and you went to China! Everyone will tell you to go to Golden Gate Bakery in sf Chinatown, where there is always a line and I swear they are closed 1/3 of the year (because they can.) my personal favorite is in oakland Chinatown at ruby king bakery, which also has the best fresh fruit and whipped cream sponge cakes.

This was such a well executed craft night made most memorable by Oh Happy Day’s warm hospitality as hosts and the chance to interact with the fabulously creative & friendly authors, Steph & Erin. I really enjoyed this one & all of the useful swag! Thanks so much and congratulations!
