Paper is definitely my favorite medium! Here is a paper project you can customize in so many ways and you probably already have all the materials. These blocks are great to have on hand for baby showers, birthday parties, holidays, etc. You can use them over and over again, just put useful letters on them and make them in a color palette you love. This pink variety would decorate an adorable second birthday for a little girl!
You will need: Cover weight paper in different colors, glitter scrapbooking paper, glue pen, craft knife, bone folder, scissors, alphabet template, and a ruler
Step 1: To make the box shape, cut out the following: 1. Two 4″ square pieces, 2. Two 4 by 5″ pieces, and 3. Two 5″ square pieces.
Step 2: Score 1/2″ from both of the short edges of the two 4 by 5″ square pieces. Then score the 5″ pieces 1/2″ from the edge all the way around. Fold along the score lines.
Step 3: With the glue pin, make the six pieces into a box by attaching them with the folded flaps. Attach the two 4″ square pieces last.
Step 4: Using the letter templates, cut out the letters and numbers you need, along with the decorative square for each side of the box.
Step 5: Glue the letters and squares onto the block.
