Festive mobiles are the perfect way to get you in the mood for the holidays. This Holiday Paper Tree Mobile only requires a few supplies and is easy to make. You can make the trees in traditional holiday colors or metallics and neutrals. Try making several mobiles and clustering them together for an eye-catching impact.
Materials: Cardstock in three different colors, wood veneer, pencil, X-Acto knife, cutting mat, ruler, thread, sewing machine (or sewing needle)
Step 1: Use pencil and ruler to draw a triangle, 4” wide and 4.5” tall, onto four different colored pieces of cardstock.
Step 2: Use X-Acto knife and ruler to cut triangles out.
Step 3: Cut triangles into 0.5” horizontal strips.
Step 4: Cut a 1”x1.5” rectangle out of wood veneer and taper sides for the tree trunk.
Step 5: Mix the strips to create different colored trees.
Step 6: Use sewing machine (or needle and thread) to stitch through the center of the tree, leaving a 12-18” string tail at the top of the tree. Knot the bottom tail close to the edge of the tree trunk and clip the remaining thread.

What a great idea, love the simplicity and I think I could do them in black and white to fit in with the rest of my decorations…

What a sweet little craft idea. I have decorated in the bright pink, blue and green this year and think these would be lovely in a spot where I need a little more color. Thanks for Sharing!
