While browsing the loot bag aisle at the party store, I saw these cute plastic whistles and knew they had some holiday potential. Spray paint them in bright color, glue them on a string, and you’ve got instant holiday decor that makes a big impact. Hang the garland from your ceiling at your next Christmas party, decorate your tree with it, or even make a few extra to tie onto gifts.
Materials: Plastic horn whistles (available in bulk at the party store), spray paint, string, scissors, hot glue gun
Step 1: Spray paint the plastic horns. Let dry.
Step 2: Cut string into 3″ pieces.
Step 3: Hot glue one end of the string into the end of the horn. It’s best if you can attach it to the inside top so that the horn will hang straight.
Step 4: Glue the other end of the string into the mouthpiece of another horn, also glueing it to the inside top.
Step 5: Repeat for as many horns as you like! For the first and last horns, use longer pieces of string so that you have slack for tying your garland.
