I picked up a few of these blank iphone cases and have been playing around with them. A few weeks ago, we tried covering a few in gold leaf and paint – and I love the way they turned out! You could make them any way you want (even put someone’s monogram in gold leaf!)

Materials: Clear iPhone Cases, Gold Leaf, Gilding Cream, Two Paintbrushes, Acrylic Paint, Mod Podge

Step 1: Using the first brush, paint your design on the inside of the iPhone case with gilding cream. (This is where the gold leaf will go.)
Step 2: Wait 15 minutes for the cream to dry clear.
Step 3: Carefully place the gold leaf onto the areas with the cream. Do not press down! This will leave fingerprints in the gold leaf.
Step 4: Using the second dry brush, brush the gold leaf gently. It wont go on perfectly, and it will be a tiny bit fussy since it’s so thin and delicate, but once it’s down it’ll stay down.
Step 5: Paint the rest of the case with your choice of color.
Step 6: After the paint is dry, you can add mod podge to help seal the gold leaf and the paint.
