Movie parties are my favorite. I love hanging out with friends, watching a good documentary, and gorging on popcorn. But, I never really know what to wear to a movie night. I’d prefer to watch every movie in my college sweatpants, but it’s not fair to expose my friends to that. So, I have to find a balance between comfort and style. On Wednesday, I’m headed to a friend’s house to watch Beyoncé’s documentary Life Is But A Dream (have you seen it?) and I think I’ve finally picked out the perfect outfit. It’s comfortable enough to lounge in, but cute enough that I won’t need to delete any Instagrams taken that night. Plus, I think the Queen would be proud of that leather jacket, don’t you?

I totally needed this post! I feel like I’m always over-dressed for movie night but this seems like a nice, comfy, and stylish alternative. Have fun watching the documentary!

Yikes! Over $1000 for a movie outfit? Way out of my league.
Hi Mary! In all of our round up posts, we try to include products in a variety of price ranges. The ultimate goal of these clothing posts is to inspire readers to recreate something similar using pieces from their own closets. But, we include links to the items should anyone be in the market for say, an awesome pair of round sunglasses. I hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions!

I agree with Mary. I understand the urge to include different price points, but $200+ for a t-shirt (even a really cute one) is tough to justify for movie night, especially when there are so many wonderful and cute t-shirts in more reasonable ranges.

I getcha Alison. I also love the t-shirt and when I clicked on the link to check out the price…there was a slight gasp. However, I remembered that I do have a shirt in my closet with a smilar shape and color and if I can add a chunky necklace and wear my favorite flats…I think I can achive equal fabulousness! Thanks for the great ideas!
Of course! I’m so glad we could help! Thanks so much for reading. 🙂

I have seen it! I thought it was a great insight into her life and her “break up” if you will from both Destiny’s Child and her Dad as her manager. Oh, and I loved seeing the behind the scenes of her pregnancy. She was so joyful! I liked it.
As far as the expensive t-shirt goes, It’s not like you will only wear the t-shirt to this one movie night! It’s not in my budget, but if it is for someone else then more power to ’em! And I think it’s nice to be inspired by things, even if you choose to do something similar at a different price point. 🙂
Thanks Sarah! I’m so excited to see the movie. I keep hearing great things! And, thanks for your thoughts on the T-shirt. I wholly agree.

This is adorable. I need some dressy movie nights with my girlfriends. I’m seven months pregnant so I won’t be buying any cute clothes at the moment but that nailpolish might be just the ticket!

I just got the OPI gel manicure in Black Cherry Chutney and I LOVE it. The color lasts almost three weeks so I always run the risk of getting sick of it before it’s time to switch. I didn’t even realize it was sparkly (I usually hate all glittery nail polish) but as soon as I stepped outside and the sun hit it there it was. I almost ran back inside to complain but realized the for the first time, I had found a sparkly red that was GREAT.
So good to know! I haven’t tried it in gel manicure form, but that’s something I definitely want to check out!
