Happy Weekend! The last few weeks have been crazy with the renovations and unpacking. We moved in this week and our stuff doesn’t even fit in our apartment! We knew that would be the case so we ‘ve been working to categorize everything into donate/sell/store piles. We’ve made a dent in the solid walls of moving boxes but still have a ways to go. Paul’s awesome parents are super generous and have come out for the week to help us do everything from babysitting, painting, rewiring lamps, child proofing the deck, etc. I honestly don’t know how we would have got along without them! Thanks Don + Linda! We are going to be unpacking all weekend but we are hoping to get away for an afternoon to go to the Maker Faire! (Have you ever been? It’s amazing!) I hope you all have a happy weekend.
I also write for Babble.com, here are my posts this week.
I bought a cheap vintage tufted sofa off Craigslist and it needs recovering. I’ve been looking at inspiration for fabrics.
This is how I want to dress (the new Madewell lookbook is amazing!)
I call these my “mom shoes” because they are the only heels I can wear and chase kids in.

Yay for unpacking! One of my least favourite things is packing for a move (I echo that feeling of just.wanting.to.get.rid.of.it.ALL – perfect time for a clear out) but I love arranging the things I manage to retain love for during the moving process into a fresh new space. Enjoy!
And I am ridiculously excited to see how you guys make an inevitably stylish living space from your small apt.

Aren’t parents (and in-laws) just wonderful? Hope you and the family have a great weekend and continue to make progress on that cute apartment!

You will LOVE Maker Faire! We went last year on a whim with our eleven year old son. It changed his life. It’s amazing what people are capable of and how inspiring it all is. He started a blog shortly after and has been busy creating since! http://www.makermaximum.blogspot.com. I can’t imagine how the world would turn without creative people…
I hope you get a chance to go!

Maker Faire is fantastic! We purchased the family pass for Sunday entry. You’ll save some moolah that way. 🙂

Hapoy weekend & unpacking! A small apartment does have a great advantage – it forces you to rethink many things and focus on the really necessary ones:-)

I do think moving can be one miserable process. Although, it’s really satisfying once it’s all done and you’ve rebuilt the nest. My husband and I lived in a very tiny one room apartment when we first got married and now we live in a 1200 square foot house with our baby. My experience with tighter living spaces have made me the opposite of a pack rat. I just want to get rid of everything I don’t cherish and keep that “light” feeling!
