I’m here in New York today for a quick trip and it’s been a great trip so far with some meetings and some shopping. I’m staying at my friend’s cute apartment on the Upper West Side and the weather has been perfect: sunny with a nice autumn chill. Today I’m going to visit all my favorite craft and supply stores. It’s kind of funny but I think that is what I’m most excited about! I’ll report back next week on my finds. I hope you have beautiful weekend!
I also write for Babble.com Here are my posts this week.
It’s November which means it is time to think about advent calendars! These are my favorite!

Jordan, I love the advent calendars! I’m making one myself with pockets, but am at a loss as to what to put in them – I don’t want to put candy in them, don’t have kids (just my partner and me) and want to save my money for our actual Christmas presents. I’d love to hear your ideas on fun advent calendar inserts!

ah!!! I know the little area that you are at. The girls I use to nanny for live just around that corner… 🙂 Upper West Side was one of my very favorite spots in NYC… along with the St. Agnes library over on Amsterdam and 81st….ever been? 🙂

Have fun in my city! Though I live just outside NYC, I work near Rockefeller Center and consider myself a true New Yorker… I love this photo; reminds me of when I had to visit a client of the jeweler I worked for… she lived on the UWS and I loved the bus ride up Riverside Drive; such a different feeling than the hustle-bustle of Midtown!

I got an adorable bubble umbrella from Target awhile back and was so in love with it. Sadly, it broke the first time I used it. I wish I knew where to find a really high-quality umbrella! The last several I’ve had have been terrible.

Enjoy! I’ve lived in Europe for a year and a half now, and while I miss family and friends and familiarity, the only thing I *really* miss about living in the US is my favorite art and craft supply stores! Ok, and bookstores.
