Hello from Germany! We rented a car and drove the five hours to my friend Jenni’s house in Germany. They have a beautiful home right on the Rhine river. Seriously, floor to ceiling views of the river. We’ve been spoiled with home cooked meals including this beautiful little cake. The little town they live in is called Eltville am Rhein and it is a quintessential charming German town with cobblestone streets and its very own castle. Here are a couple pictures of us exploring today.

That IS the best part about living in Europe- everything is a day trip away. We grew up going to Rothenburg most Decembers and Germany quickly became one of my favorite vacations.
(Your hair has looked so great in your since-the-move photos. I love those bangs/"fringe.")

Great photos, makes me a bit homesick, I grew up about 20 minutes from there..
It's amazing in the summer too with all the outdoors wine bars.

Hi Jordan! I'm Kim, Jenni's sis. I've never seen your blog before (shame on Jen, seriously), but my friend sent me an email today saying, "Is this your house?" I laughed. So happy that you had a good time. My parents are the greatest and yes, that is the best table cloth in the universe!! 🙂

You`re in Eltville? That`s incredible. I studied in Mainz, lived there for 9 years and moved then to Wiesbaden for 2 years. Don`t miss to visit Wiesbaden with all it`s beautiful Jugendstil houses. And don`t miss the Loreley. I wish you nice days in my old home area.

What a treat! Germany looks worth exploring. I agree your bangs are cute, and I think you look more European and quite pretty in the photo with a natural lip color (maybe no lipstick at all?).

Oh I recognize Jenni in her yellow jacket. ;D You took beautiful photos of Eltville! I´m glad you are enjoying your time here in Germany. Don´t forget to come to Johannisberg (it´s only 10 min away from Eltville). You would love it!

I remember seeing those crazy, knobby trees in Frankfurt and just loving them. They're so unique.
