I am completely inspired by these two projects. First Jenny over at Little Green Notebook has been posting tutorials on how she put together her little girls’ room…on a budget! It is really amazing.
Next, Grace at Design Sponge has a fantastic DIY headboard project where she makes this beautiful headboard from scratch. It makes me want to redecorate everything in my house.

I've been following the Green Notebook girls' room now for a few days, enjoying the successive unveils. Bless you for pointing out the headboard from design sponge! I have been hoping to buy something great for my master bed now for years. I knew headboards were possible to make, but love the detailed instructions. This is just what I needed. I'm so excited to get started.

I love it when parents use grownup elements in their kids' rooms, as in the sophisticated patterned headboards. The contrast between childish objects like the dolls and the baby blue of the nightstand is so pretty.

I went home for a visit and my mother had made her own headboard – it's amazing, and such a great project! Also, what an awesome way to add some good color to a room.
