I go through stages of decorating the house, right now I’m on a kick. Here is what I’ve been thinking about:
Part of my Christmas was this bedspread I’ve been wanting forever. I bought it in November and justified it to Paul by calling it Christmas. The bedspread is hand embroidered by Otomi Indians, I love it. I got it in red.
I’m still looking for the right rug. I have my eye on this natural Wool Jute rug which is great because it isn’t as rough as sisal. It is on super sale which is always nice.
What about this media stand from Pier One. {Also on sale!} Is this ugly or cool? I’m torn. If I got it I would paint it.
Also, maybe two of these Pharmacy floor lamps for each side of the sofa.

Glad you finally got the bedspread. They are much prettier in person.

The media stand is cool but paint it-unless that finish looks better in person.

Hey Jordan! I have that same Otomi spread … in red, too. I’ve currently got mine draped on the back of the living room couch. (I’ve also got a smaller, framed orange version in a guest bedroom.)
And I agree with Ashlynn; they are even more gorgeous in person, because you can really appreciate the details and embroidery.
Glad you treated yourself to that!

I think the spread with the console is too much busyness.

I’ve got that same rug from West Elm. It is very comfy on my feet. The only thing is that the edges aren’t as crisp and straight in person…

I think you could have both the spread and the media storage just fine (mainly because the storage would be one color, painted or not). I kinda like it how it is, but it would be so cool in a bright color. I’m assuming they would be in different rooms (areas?) and that would help also. Both are cool!

The Bedspread is in the bedroom and the Media Stand is in the living room.
I just can’t decide if the media stand is a little cheesy.

i think the media stand would be cool painted white but maybe it doesn’t go with the rest of your modern livingroom

I like the media stand. I say get it. You have such exquisite taste so whatever you do I know it will turn out fantastic.

The media stand is okay, but I think you could find a one that’s a bit better. If you’re tired of waiting though I’d say just get it and paint it. It might look cool laquered (sp).

I love that Anonymous said…Wait, isn’t one of your resolutions not to spend money? That was what I was thinking, but then I thought maybe it’s like going on a diet…you might want to binge first.
The media stand is ok. I wouldn’t run out and purchase.

The media stand is very "Pier 1" if you know what I mean… not that I really know you or anything 🙂 — but it doesn't look like something you would normally pick. I am kinda on the "keep looking" side.
Check out the Windham Media Storage Console at Crate & Barrel… I just got it in white. It blends well with my other furnishings and keeps little hands off the electronics and the remotes still work through the glass… and it is high enough that my little one can't reach the TV.
Sorry for the long comment. I talk to much. 🙂

i think if you get the media stand you should definitely paint it a bright color and lacquer it up. can’t wait to see what you do!

I’m so jealous of your bedspread. I want it in yellow SO BADLY!
