My brother and his wife Liz and little baby Hank will be coming into town next week. So we booked a nights stay at Pigeon Point Lighthouse down the coast. It is a hostel and it is only $25/ night. Sleeping at a lighthouse… such a charming idea.

I am normally a lurker but I love your blog and you guys will have so much fun! It reminds me of elementary school field trips… I grew up just up highway 1. My parents still live there + my kids love a trip to visit Pigeon Point. Check out Montara Lighthouse on your way up or down the coast as well… bring bubbles for the kids to blow on the bluffs. 🙂 (ooh… and get a burrito at El Gran Amigo in Moss Beach – right by the church. this comment is getting very long… and now I am hungry)

i took field trips to pigeon point as a child and stayed there as well. very fun. reminds me of gray skies, superb sunsets, and murky tidepools full of creatures. oh yes, and lemongrass too. 😀
Am I doing okay?

Make sure you reserve time in the hot tub late at night– it’s on a cliff with waves crashing below, and the fog rolls in. So great.

My family visited there a few summers ago and wished we had stayed the night! Great idea!
