I want a good city bicycle but those Swedish ones I love are so expensive. Emily posted about this one last week and it is at a much sweeter price point. Hmmmmm. Christmas present?

Just be sure to get a cute basket for your bike. I love mine and it makes me happy riding around town with it!

Eight speeds would definitely be handy in the city…but if you’re willing to only have three the bike is $300 cheaper. I bet you could strap a cute baby seat on the back too!

I got an Amsterdam Classic from Electra (http://www.electrabike.com/amsterdam/) to satisfy my dutch bike hunger, and I adore it!
The only downside for me is that I am going to have to have the light bracket removed so I can have a basket.

I share your love of Swedish bicycles and have also turned my attention to the Simple City of late. I test rode one this weekend and posted about it if you want more info. Such tough decisions we Swedish loving gals must make!

Not as cute, but a some more pratical city and kid friendly suggestion: Tandem Bike Friday.
Mon and dad can ride together with kid in baby seat until the the kid is old enough to peddle, then one of the parents rides tandem with kid. Another bonus is it folds.
Google image search “kid tandem bike friday” and you’ll see some fun pictures.

I bought this one last summer. I can get them for half the price if you like. There are more colors to choose from too:
