We had a really great trip. We went to St. George, Utah for my ten year high school reunion. It was so wonderful to see old faces, I was really really glad I went. My friend Heather hooked us up with a stay in her dad’s fancy new hotel at the entrance of Zion National Park. It was really nice. I was a junior Park Ranger at Zion one summer during high school, so I know it like the back of my hand. It was fun to take Paul all over and show him all the secret swimming holes. The rest of the trip we hung out with family and talked politics, ate some amazing food, and shot off bottle rockets with my cute nieces and nephews.
The lame part of the trip: I left my iphone in the rental car and realized it ten minutes after, but it wasn’t in the car. We think one of the dudes who cleaned it out stole it. 🙁 So all morning I’ve been canceling things and figuring out if I want to pay full price for a new iphone. I’m thinking about having a bake sale to raise funds. It is all very irritating.
The more important details of the trip: I wore this dress {found in my closet} with a skinny green belt to the reunion.

Jordan, Apple is surprisingly cool about these kinds of mishaps. I dropped mine in a toilet (yes, embarressing I know) and brought it in to the store. They replaced it, no questions asked. They didn’t want to know what happened. I don’t know if it was just that particular employee or what. I realize yours was stolen, not damaged, but it’s worth a shot. Applecare is built in to iphone purchases I believe and maybe they’ll give you a discount on a new phone…worth a try!

I totally empathize. I left my cell phone in a cab in Chicago last fall – which was actually the impetus for buying an iPhone – cause I had to buy a new phone ANYWAY.
bake sale sounds brilliant.

Did you possibly have GPS on the phone? Perhaps you can have Apple locate it and scare the thief into returning it (leave a message on your own phone). You are probably too sweet for something like that, but I’m not!

I HATE when that happens! My husband left his brand new laptop on the plane when we traveled to Italy…it made us sooooo upset because we tried and tried to find it, and we never located it.
My mom gave me the message that she saw you…I thought about calling and dropping by, but my little boy was pretty sick, and so it just didn’t seem like a good idea. Glad you had fun at the reunion. Cute dress…

Wow, that blows. I can’t imagine losing my beloved iPhone. I don’t remember what I did with my spare time at red lights and in shopping lines before it came along. I hope things turn out for you in that department.
Oh, and LoVe the dress 🙂

Bummer! Sorry about the phone. But I’m sure you looked sassy in that dress–like the green belt idea. Oh the good ‘ol days of high school. I went to mine last year.

A friend of mine got his iPhone stolen as well. He recovered it by looking up his account online and seeing what phone numbers the thief was calling. He called those numbers and managed to get the name of the person who stole his phone by talking to the thief’s friends and relatives. It was a bit of a hassle but worth it given the cost of replacing the phone.
