Why has no one come out with a line of flat-edge, pretty-print cupcake liners? These are so beautiful. Sadly, other than those really expensive laser-cut ones, there is no version of something this pretty. Making them would be completely unrealistic for occasions related to mass cupcake consumption. When will the powers that be see this business opportunity and quench my desire for uber-adorable cupcakes?

Wow, wow, weird. I just commented on the MG post, but this is nuts. You are channeling my wedding! April Reed made my cake. She is AMAZING–by far the most fun part of planning the wedding was working with her. She’s sweet and collaborative and incredibly talented. The cake was my big splurge and tragically the delivery van she’d rented malfunctioned and melted the fondant, making the cake all sad and melty, but she handled it beautifully and I’m just glad I got to work with her! What a great lady.
(The cake was soooo tasty, too. And the way she does tastings is great fun: She sends you home with a big box of mini loaf cakes of all her flavors, and tiny jars of the fillings and frostings, and you try them out on your own without her there watching you. We made a night of it!)

I’ll bet those are self made liners. They look like they’re around the liners that the cupcakes are baked in, esp as you can see the frosting smooshed underneath.
Do you think they are cuffs of paper or have something additional on the bottom to keep them attached to the cupcake liner?

Have you seen Chockylit’s cupcakes? Not to say that those featured aren’t lovely – but, I have to say no one come close to those of http://www.cupcakeblog.com She is a genius when it comes to cupecakes, hundreds of luscious cakes, and the flavour combinations are out of this word!! You must check them out – and though I haven’t built up enough courage to tackle a recipe of hers myself, I suggest you do (and then tell me how they went!!)
