Wow. This article from the Times is SO inspiring to me. This couple bought an old crappy barn three hours north of Manhattan for $150K and then did all kinds of renovations to make it warm and livable. I wish the article mentioned how much they paid in renovations. The idea of buying a crummy old barn or warehouse and fixing it up gets me so excited.

Wow, American barns are really lovely to start with. Certainly beats the corrugated tin shed you usually find in Australian paddocks. Great renovation they have done.

Wouldn’t that be so much fun? But, I wonder if there would be lingering barny smells.

Forget how much they paid to renovate it, how much do they pay to heat it?

I had some friends in Montana who renovated a barn for a living space. It had such a unique energy; i loved it.

I have a 36×60 3 story barn that I would like to sell, it has the very nice Gambrel style roof and is in great shape. It’s located in Upstate New York, email of interested and I can send pictures. wcc813@stny.rr.com
