Panini Heaven

We got a panini maker for Christmas. My friend Tracy got pounds and pounds of meat etc. from a friend who sent her Build-your-own-Rubens from a NY deli. {Great idea for a present.} She shared her wealth and brought by some for us. Yum. We’ve been eating the yummiest sandwiches ever. We’ve only owned it for three days but I’m pretty sure this panini maker has changed my life.

I am such a junkie for food-related stuff. I just noticed that on my blog, I listed three foodie Christmas gifts as my favorites. I guess it takes a certain kind of person to understand the insanity of loving a panini maker or an enameled cast iron Dutch oven (refer to my blog). Suffice it to say, I understand your madness!

I got a panini maker for my birthday a few years ago. It is so fun to invent new yummy and healthy sandwiches.

Ash & I also got a panini maker for Christmas. I have the best recipe for a panini.

It includes cantalope, prosciutto, brie cheese, foccacia bread, & fresh arugula. It’s the bomb.

I’ve considered buying one of those, but I’ve been afraid that it would end up in storage most of the time, right next to our waffel maker…mabye I’ll have to give it a try.

since being in Italy, it’s become one of our staples…we LOVE panini’s! (our favorite, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, oregano…then dip in balsamic vinegar…mmmm)

I’ve been using my seven-year-old George Forman grill as a panini maker. Maybe it’s time for an upgrade.

Good to know- my husband has been after this particular model for a while and I’ve been hesitant, as we’ve got a couple of small appliances that don’t get used. Thank you for the recommendation though, I think that he should get a new year’s gift of his own!

I’ve been reading your blog for months now, and enjoy it, and I am only now motivated enough to comment. (Mostly because all my other comments up to this point would be, “That’s adorable!” Anyway, what I really want to know is, what’s the difference between a pannini maker and, say, a george foreman grill?

    Haha Camille!

To tell you the truth…I used my George Forman grill to make paninis but now I have an official panini maker.
    Good question.

i’m with Michelle…I use my Foreman grill to make paninis also. I don’t have room for anything else in my kitchen, and since it was taking up space in a cupboard, i decided to break it out one day and grill up some sandwiches

I got this same maker a few months ago – but I actually got it for the griddle features! I love making pancakes on it 🙂

    It truly is awesome.
