This issue of Martha Stewart Weddings might be my favorite ever. Here are a few things I loved. {Sorry for the weird photos, when I scanned them they came out funny.} First off I loved the garland on this cake. I want to try a version of this for just a regular birthday cake. The frosting is a textured fondant and the edges are a simple hand piped details. You can buy the little green garland from my favorite neighborhood boutique Bell’occhio.
Another detail I loved was this yellow sweater. The bride’s mother added a few personal details to her store-bought dress, like yellow piping and a little pleated edging. The bride found some antique yellow flower pins to wear on the bodice. And the sweater {which she obviously didn’t wear the whole time} is an unexpected addition that looks so relaxed and colorful.

Hello – fellow MS Weddings addict here. Loved the yellow sweater you mentioned, plus I really liked the one Darcy Miller wore on the editor’s page. Great issue – I just started a subscription because I’m buying every issue – and oh yeah, I’ve been married 15 years ….

How can you not love that bride in the yellow sweater? So cute and casual.
