We went camping last Friday at Kirby Cove {luckily it didn’t rain}. It was seriously SO AWESOME. Kirby Cove is down below the Golden Gate Bridge in the Marin Headlands. The road to get there is gated so you need a permit and a lock combo to go. The views of the bridge at night were breathtaking. We had smores, ate tin foil dinners, and took several walks on the beach. The next morning Jared and Michelle Aller came down with donuts and hot chocolate. The best part is that it was only a ten minute drive from our house. Here are some more pictures on my flickr account. {When we got back I tried to book another night for a few months away but they were booked through September! There were some day permits available though.}

Camping at Kirby Cove was on our to-do list when we lived in Menlo Park! We never got around to it but it sounds wonderful. I am glad you got to experience it. Love your blog! BTW-I’m Gabby’s friend. We met in CA when we were on our way to Mexico many years ago 🙂

Okay. I posted it. Costanoa – the camping place that works rain or shine. No view of the Golden Gate, but another option to try since you are near. The beach is across the street.
