We leave to Thailand in two weeks. So many things to do between now and then. If anyone has any last suggestions on cool places to go or places to stay please email me! We are firming up our itinerary. The plan is to spend a few days in Bangkok see some temples, shop, and then head south to the beaches.

This may have just been a serendipitous experience not easily replicated. . . BUT my favorite day in Thailand was when we decided to take a 2 hour bus ride from Bangkok to the shore and then another 45 minute boat ride to a remote, non-touristy island. When we first got off the boat we thought “this is it? oh great–we just wasted the whole day” but we were then taken to the other side of this island and it was gorgeous and we were the ONLY tourists there and it was just a fantastic day. There’s a lot more to why this day was so perfect, but my point is maybe go somewhere off the beaten path that might not be a top recommendation. . . I went with Care King, BTW, if you want more details from her.

My friend served his mission in Thailand. He would be so jealous! I’ll have to ask him what he recomends.
