There is an article in Domino about a chinese-themed party. The whole article was great but my favorite part is the custom fortune cookies. At FortuneCookieStore.com they have custom fortune cookies for cheap. 150 cookies for $30. It would be cute to send them as invitations or even just have them at the party with clever little quips.

A few years ago, Martha had a recipe for fortune cookies. They were giant and had a beautiful red ribbon hanging out of them. The fortunes were written in silver glitter pen. When I think about it, it makes me want to do a great New Year’s party,

I did a chinese-themed baby shower for my friend (who was having twins boy/girl). I served chinese food and then gave them a takeout carton with a onsie and a fortune cooke. The fortune they found was either “it’s a girl” or “it’s a boy” and then they were to decorate the onsie according to the gender.
My favorite part was the invitations. I did them on origami paper and then folded them into cranes. I mailed them in velum envelopes so you could see the origami crane inside.
