One of my favorite things is the monthly Where Are You? contest on CondeNast Traveler’s website. Each month, the magazine features a picture and a description of a place in the world and asks its readers to guess the name and place. Past places have ranged from the Atomium in Brussels to Mount McKinley in Alaska. I love learning about new places and feeling like Nancy Drew as I google and search my way to find the answer.
Plus, there are prizes. Everyone who enters a correct answer gets put into a monthly drawing and the winner gets $1,000. Then, all entries throughout the year are entered in a grand prize drawing and that lucky person wins a free trip for two to one of the 12 destinations featured in the contest for that year.
If pictures aren’t worth 1,000 words to you, try this contest as well, also sponsored by CN Traveler. I actively plan this game too, although I don’t like it nearly as much as the Where Are You? game.
