I like to get good deals on things. I would say that is a major facet of my personality. Thats not to say I’m frugal. (I wish I was.) But I love to get good deals on things where I don’t have to sacrifice quality.
For example:
-The shameless use of my discount at Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, etc. (I only work one evening a month but I still get the discount.)
-I always look for the sale items at Anthropologie online. If you take a printout into the store they honor the online price. (At least in San Francisco it is usually half-price.)
-I buy all my magazine subscriptions on ebay. They are super cheap. (I obsess over magazines)
I’m not sure why I get so stoked about getting a deal but I do. Please share any tricks you have for getting a deal….

I have a problem buying anything anymore. The last few years before I buy clothing or decor I have to check ebay first to make sure I can’t get it cheaper there. I am often relieved that I hadn’t mad the purchase.
Like last week at Banana Republic Outlet – I loved this white linen suit & it was 50% off. I checked ebay quickly & found it was 50% less than their discount! OOOhh I am cheap.

I can’t help but think your boss at Pottery Barn is saying:
“I feel bad taking advantage of her. She only works one day a month and she provides half of our sales for the month. We would bo out of business if it weren’t for her.”
As far as saving money strategies go, apathy towards quality/looks/functionality works for me!

Actually, when I want to go home early I tell my manager that I’ll buy something if she lets me off early. 🙂
