Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you but the president of Apple and the president of Nike got together to figure out a way to make you spend more money. Apparently if you buy a pair of nike shoes with a place in the sole for a little gizmo AND if you buy an ipod Nano AND if you buy the Sport Kit. Then your ipod keeps track of how far you’ve run and calories burned etc. Sounds rad to me.

So you have to buy everything? Also, Jordan, remember when we use to buy fast breaks and eat them together?

Well, Maybe there is a way to connect it to a normal shoe. I don’t know if you need it in the sole of the shoe for it to work. I need a new pair of running shoes anyway. . .

so my company does all the nike web stuff, the kid that sits next to me had to work through the weekend and pull an all nighter on monday to finish that site.
it’s not gps, it’s just a pedometer. you have to get special shoes, ~$100.
the kit is like $30. You can buy more sophisticated GPS watch systems for like $100-300, the cool thing about this is that most people that run and fit in nike’s demographics also statistically already have ipods, and probably run with it. As runners, they like music and they also wonder “how far did i go?” etc. Because they kept the price point so low it’s something that all these ipod-owning runners can afford and want to purchase. that’s a pretty nerdy comment to add to your blog so let me apologize, but at this point i’d rather post it than erase/modify it.
