Yes! I threw myself a semi-formal 30th birthday party a couple years ago and it was one of my favorite things I've ever done! So fun to have all your friends and their spouses get all dressed up b/c you were hosting such an event. Great times.

ha, that's funny. my friend bonnie just threw an end of summer vintage soiree and i took the pictures. it was a blast, and a great way to end summer.

PS–We were a little vague about the party when we invited people, so most people were casually dressed. As they arrived, we were like, "Oh yeah, and we forgot to tell you to dress up." Woops!

What a great idea! The only time my family ever dresses up is for weddings, baptisms or other occasions. It would be fun to see them dressed up for something like a summer ball.
