Chocolate Chip Cookie Party

This party is a tribute to our favorite cookie: the chocolate chip! We bought a bunch of different chocolate chips cookies for a cookie bar and taste test, and added these adorable mini milk jugs with printable labels (designed by Amy!) for drinks. There’s nothing better than cookies and milk!

We couldn’t pass up an opportunity to make a piñata, so we made this MASSIVE chocolate chip cookie piñata to match the theme. Rumor has it the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie sold the idea to Nestle for a lifetime supply of chocolate chips! Best deal ever, am I right?

Materials Needed: Cookie shape PDF, cardboard, corrugated paper, projector, pencil, packing tape, kraft tissue paper, scissors, hot glue gun, brown cardstock

Step 1: Project your cookie image onto a piece of cardboard and slightly trace on the cardboard.

Step 2: Cut out the cookie with an x-acto knife then trace your cutout onto another piece of cardboard and cut out.

Step 3: Cut a 6” strip of cardboard to attach the two sides together. Tape the strip to one side of the cutout, creasing the cardboard so it moves easily around the circle. Then, tape the mirror image to the other side. Be sure to leave a small opening for candy stashing!

Step 4: Cut a bunch of fringe using tissue paper. Our fringe was roughly, 2” tall and 1mm wide.

Step 5: Starting from the bottom, adhere the fringe using a hot glue gun. Apply fringe to the sides of the cookie, making sure the sides are fully glued.

Step 6: Cut out pieces of dark brown cardstock, this will act as the ‘chips’ for the cookies. Hot glue the ‘chips’ to both sides of the cookie. Yum! You’re done!

This would be fun for a girl’s movie night… But I’d spike the milk with chocolate and Baileys 😉
