For this post we were inspired by all of our tissue paper in the Oh Happy Day Party Shop. It’s a weird thing but it is kind of hard to find good colors of tissue paper in bulk. We went to town fringing and ended up with this pretty fringe backdrop. We mounted it on paper so it can be rolled up and used again and again.
The fringe part can be made while watching a movie (call some friends to help!) and then install the fringe with a glue gun on site. I love that you can reuse it. Perfect for a wedding or a big party!
Materials needed: Tissue paper (in cerise, buttercup, limon, and peach), x-acto knife, ruler, butcher paper, packing tape, pencil, hot glue gun
Step 1: Make a bunch of fringe in each color tissue paper, about 4” tall with each fringe about 1 cm wide.
Step 2: Tape together long strips of butcher paper to make a large backdrop. We made ours 8’ tall and 9’ wide. Map out how you want to space your colors in pencil.
Step 3: Beginning at the bottom of the backdrop, hot glue the fringe in strips in each designated section, leaving a bit of margin beyond. As you move to the next color, overlap onto the margin to keep your fringe feeling full!
