Marbling Class

I’m so excited! We are just kicking off our first round of classes at the new Oh Happy Day Studio in San Francisco! First up are these amazing marbling classes by Natalie Stopka. I’ve followed her work for a while now and was able to convince her to come out to the Bay Area and teach us! You can learn how to make fabric and paper (perfect for making Holiday gifts!)  The classes are this coming weekend! Sign up right here or read about more details below!

About Natalie Stopka

Natalie is a process-driven artist. Drawing on diverse textile and bookbinding techniques to create unique objects: utilitarian or purely artistic. In her exploration of historical fiber arts, she seeks to refresh half-forgotten methods such as embroidery, fabric marbling, mordant patterning, and the fermentation of natural dyes. This approach brings a complex, ever-evolving vocabulary of texture and surface patterning to the work she creates. Natalie works out of her freelance studio based in Manhattan, but also spends time in upstate New York growing and foraging natural dyes. She also teaches workshops on a variety of textile and book techniques at the Textile Arts Center and other regional continuing education centers.
