Honeycomb Rings DIY

If you’ve been to a bridal shower recently, I’m sure you played the forbidden word game. Usually what happens is at the start of the shower, guests are told not to say the word “love”, “wedding”, or the bride’s name or else you’ll have to wear an embarrassing hat or similar. Instead, why not start by giving all guests one of these honeycomb rings and if someone catches you saying a forbidden word, you have to give them your ring. Whoever is wearing the most rings at the end of the shower wins!

Supplies: Cardstock, ruler, pencil, scissors, scrap paper, honeycomb paper, hot glue gun

Step 1: On the scrap paper, draw the outline of half a diamond about 1 1/2″ tall, without the bottom tip. Cut out the template.
Step 2: Trace the template onto the honeycomb paper twice, as shown below. Keep the glue lines going horizontally across the diamond.
Step 3: Cut them out.
Step 4: Hot glue the two pieces together, keeping the edges lined up as much as possible.
Step 5: Expand the honeycomb and hot glue the other two sides together, forming the diamond.
Step 6: Trace and cut a circle (about the size of a spray paint can) onto cardstock. Cut the circle in half, and on each half cut away an inner circle, leaving two Cs about 1/2″ wide. Cut a scallop or zig zag into the outside of the C.
Step 7: Roll the C into a circle that fits around the base of your honeycomb diamond. Hot glue in place.
Step 8: Cut a matching cardstock strip, about 1/2″ wide. Cut to fit around your finger, and hot glue together. Hot glue this ring to the bottom of the honeycomb diamond. Repeat in various colors.
