These napkin rings are super simple to make and look so luxe. With air dry clay, there is no need to fuss with the oven so it’s so easy to create the pretzel shapes. They mingle well with other gold or brass items to create a sophisticated holiday tablescape.
You will need: Air dry clay, a paintbrush, and gold liquid leaf
Step 1: Break off a piece of clay (if using Fimo air dry clay, it’s about 1/4 of the package) and roll it into a 12″ by about 1/2″ wide tube.
Step 2: Wind the tube into a pretzel shape – if you need help check out this video!) and let dry on a flat surface. The clay I used said that it would be completely dry overnight but in practice it took more like two days to feel totally dry. I also flipped the pretzels over a few times as they were drying to make sure air was circulating throughout.
Step 3: Paint with liquid leaf.
