Foil Space Mobile

One of my favorite unexpected craft supplies are the foil baking sheets available at grocery stores. They are so affordable and versatile! This time I’ve used them to make these simple night sky mobiles – wouldn’t they be fun for a space party? I made a few of rocket party poppers to go with it. So fun!

Foil Space Mobile | Oh Happy Day!

Supplies: foil cookie sheet, thin wire, scissors, pencil, nail, cloth

Step 1: Draw your shapes (stars, clouds, a moon, rocket ship, etc) on the foil, avoiding any ridges.
Step 2: Cut the shapes out doing your best to keep the edges smooth.
Step 3: Arrange the shapes as you’d like them to hang on the mobile. Mark dots where you’d like to string the pieces together.
Step 4: Put the cloth behind each dot and use the nail to poke a hole through the foil.
Step 5: Thread the wire through the hole and twist it back on itself to secure.
Step 6: Continue threading pieces of wire through the holes until all the pieces are connected. Add another wire at the very top to attach to the ceiling/wall.

Such a cute idea! I think this would work great in a nursery as well… shiny and pretty 😉

    Hi!

I’ve been looking through your blog and I’m really loving what I see.

I’m currently working on a project, to create a magazine. Basically, the magazine will be made to inspire people, by showing photographies, clothes & accessories, (less known) cities from all around the world, art, DIY-projects and everything else that might inspire people. I will try to get it printed, and sold.

I’m wondering, would you like to take part in it? Your style is exactly what I’m looking for and I think it would fit well in the magazine.

    Love,
    Hilde
