Is it summer yet? It won’t really matter when you adorn your drink with these fun paper palms and imagine yourself lounging by the pool. These are great for a summer party or just have a few fun drinks with your friends!
Materials: Printable drink palm template, 8.5 x 11 white card stock (I used Epson Ultra Premium Matte Presentation Paper), scissors or craft knife, bone folder, glue
Step 1: Print out the Printable drink palm templateΒ on to 8.5 x 11 white card stock.
Step 2: With scissors or a craft knife, cut out the tree trunk & palm leaves leaving the white edges of the leaves (refer to picture).
Step 3: Create a nice round tree trunk by rolling against the glue stick cap. This will make the paper bend more easily. Place glue on one edge and seal. I found by using my finger I was able to get a better seal (see picture). Let tree trunk dry.
Step 4: Fold leaves in half and glue. Trim the remaining white edges with scissors or a craft knife. Cut the indicated notches on the top & bottom of the palm (one each) and fit palms together.
Step 5: When the trunk has dried, pinch the top and cut a notch approximately 5/8β deep through the center. Pinch the trunk in the opposite direction and repeat so that there are 4 notches.
Step 6: Put glue on the the flaps created by the notches and insert the palm piece. Pinch to secure.
Step 7: Pick the type of glass you want to use and measure your tree against it to determine the depth of the notches you should cut so that palm fits nicely over the edge. For the mason jars in the photo I cut out 2 notches approximately 3/4β high and 1/4β width.
Step 8: Now that your drink palm is complete, add a fancy drink to the glass and top with a cute paper straw!
