Letterpress Business Card Class

I’m happy to announce I’ll be teaching a series of beginning letterpress classes in September and November in San Francisco. I used to teach these classes regularly but took a break when we moved to Paris. We’ve brought them back by popular demand! I’ve organized the classes by date and by ink color (everyone in the class prints the same color ink.)  The class teaches the basics of printing with photopolymer plates on a Vandercook letterpress. Each student submits their own design or chooses from one of our templates and gets to print 250 of their very own letterpress business cards. It is a really fun relaxing class (there are only 8 students!) and snacks will be provided. I hope to see you guys there! Sign up here. Also, just FYI this is probably the last time I’ll offer this in a while.

ps: I’m even doing one special watercolor /letterpress class where students will watercolor and print their own business cards.

I live no where near San Francisco (I’m in Omaha, Nebraska) but would love to learn about making my own polymer plates. I currently just buy them from Boxcar but of course I would love to have that knowledge. I do screen printing and have heard it is very similar to the process with emulsion only using different light ect. Would you be willing to do an online tutorial or even point me in the direction of a reliable source to learn. Thanks!!! p.s. you are my favorite to follow on Pinterest!

How fun! I am in Los Angeles, so I won’t be able to participate, but I would attend if I am in the area. What do you recommend to continue the art after the class, without your professional letterpress?

If you ever want to take your show on the road, I have been researching and looking for folks to teach DIY’s in our store. Any thoughts on someone local to San Diego who might be interested?

Your things are absolutely fun … beautiful … and simply perfect!

Hoping to round up spare funds for this. Your Bing class was amazing, and having the opportunity to do my own design is awesome! You rock!

Could I ever convince you to teach another class on September 29th? I’ll be in SF with my husband – he’s a graphic designer/web designer and would LOVE this!! I’m a designer for Target and Do many creative projects on the side. I’ve been following your blog and posts on Instagram for some time. Let me know.

The idea of your classes is very interesting and it is great that all the students have the right to choose because it helps to develop their creativity. Personally I would like to visit these classes because I`m really interested in this.

  • If only you were in Australia. Looks so creative and wonderful.

  • I’m on the wrong side of the country to take the class, but I think that’s a really cool idea. Any chance you could cook up a webinar sometime?
