Dipped-Tip Paper Chrysanthemums DIY

Today, I’m so excited to share an exclusive paper flower DIY from my friends at Thuss + Farrell.  I’ve loved the work of these awesome designers forever, so it’s an honor to partner with them on Oh Happy Day! This Dipped-Tip Paper Chrysanthemums DIY is inspired by the projects in their new book, Paper to Petal (which you should purchase immediately.) I preordered this book several months ago and when it arrived last week it did not disappoint. It is a masterpiece FOR REALS. For this Chrysanthemum project they crafted 2 color palettes: summer and autumn. I love that this flower is versatile and can be made in any color combination – so it’s great for parties and events!  All the DIY instructions are included in the PDF below. Just click download to enjoy!  If you’re interested in learning more about their paper crafts and book, visit their website and blog as well as their photo/design site.

What a great tutorial! I recently tried to make these flowers with this video tutorial http://wowmp3.net/watch/B8LmiseyTFQ/making-flower-out-of-paper-chrysanthemum and since it worked out well, I am looking for ways to improve my skills. Now I will try out your way of making these buddies. Thanks a lot for the post!

Wow- those are pretty! I don’t exactly have a green thumb (I’m not sure whether that saying exists in English…in German it means sth like: to be good with plants), so paper flowers are the ideal solution for me.

Thanks for the inspiration and love from Germany,

    Bambi

I just checked out this beautiful book from the library yesterday! Despite my bag being full to the point I was afraid it migh break, I could not pass up this beautiful cover. It is gorgeous and amazing. And all that crepe paper made me think of some of your projects as I thumbed through. Bravo to them on a gorgeous book!

Speaking of paper artists, have you ever hear and seen Isabelle de Borchgrave’s work? I wrote about it here on my blog here, http://oomphlove.blogspot.ca/2012/10/the-art-of-pulp-fashion.html

These are so gorgeous! What a great idea! They’d look much better than those plastic ones I picked up from Ikea, too. -Leith
