Keep these fun flamingo invitations in your purse, ready to make quick and impromptu cocktail dates with friends! They’re super-easy to make and come in three pretty shades. Simply print out, construct and write your message on the back.
Materials: Color printer, Thick glossy photo card stock (I’ve used Canon 275gsm Photo Paper Plus Glossy II), Gold card stock, Ruler, Cutting board, X-acto knife, Pencil, Scissors, Rounded corner punch (optional), Mini craft brads (paper fasteners)
Step 1: Download the PDF at the bottom of this post and print out onto thick, glossy photo paper. Note: Do not use Mac Preview to view or print the PDF, as colours may come out completely wrong. Use Adobe Reader instead.
Step 2: Use your x-acto knife, ruler and cutting board to cut out the invitation. If you have a round corner punch, you can use this to round out the corners. Use scissors to cut out the wing template.
Step 3: Place the wing template face down on the back of your gold card and trace around the edge with your pencil.
Step 4: Place the gold wing into place on the invitation- make sure it is covering the “Let’s Do Cocktails” text. Please use the photos in this post as a guideline for where to place the wing to ensure that the text can be seen fully when you swing the wing around.
Step 5: Use your x-acto knife to create a hole in both the wing and card and slip a mini brad through to attach the wing to the card. Fasten at the back.

These are lovely! I am going to use them as décor or invites for my soon-to-be 4 year old daughter’s “flamingo birthday party.” I’ll just cover the “let’s do cocktails” part with a wing and they’ll be perfect! Thank you!

Hello Oh Happy Day Team!
I love all these printables. I am also on the hunt for a new color printer. Any recommendations on a good one to print many of the projects you have previously showcased on the site? Thanks!
Sarah
Hi Sarah! I personally use a Canon Pixma MG6150 Colour Inkjet Printer- it’s what I’ve used for all my printables. It seems quite tolerant of thick stock and I think the colours turn out pretty well- They come out especially vibrant when I use thick, high gloss photo paper.
