Mini Balloon Placecards

This is a perfect little idea Alison came up with. Mini Balloon Placecard Holders are so cute it is almost too much (like balloons couldn’t get any cuter, they had to make mini balloons!) Because they’re smaller, 5″ balloons don’t stay inflated as long as bigger balloons. But, their life-span is perfect for surprising guests at your next party. Attach them to calligraphed placecards so each person can have their own!

Materials: 5″ Balloons, String, Helium, Paper, Scissors, Double Sided Tape

Step 1: Inflate balloons with helium. Tip – Wait until just before the start of the party as the 5” balloons don’t last as long as larger size balloons.
Step 2: Tie balloons with string. Trim them to the same length.
Step 3: Create, then cut out nametags.
Step 4: Attach the nametags to the balloon string.
Step 5: Anchor the balloons to the place setting with double sided tape. We found it necessary to attach them to the table, as they were so light and easily floated away when someone walked by.

(P.S. Remember when Moses and I surprised Paul at work with a bundle of mini balloons? Oooh, he was such a cute baby!)

I love how everything goes with the balloon theme (round confetti on the table and napkins and round circle patterned farbic napkins).

Do you typically keep your own helium on hand?
Running out to pick up the pre-ordered helium balloons is never convenient!
    How do you do it?

Good question. I keep a small tank of helium on hand in my party closet.

Maybe a good tip?? When you attach the balloon to the place card you could also take a coin to the back or inside of it to help hold it down… Super cute idea!

Adorable idea – I have heard of some people putting glow sticks in the balloons so they are lit for after dark parties. Great ideas!

Very cute idea! I love this idea for unique place settings at a party. I would be worried about the place cards being heavy enough to weigh down the balloon, though. Is that a problem?
