Giant Valentine’s Day Posters + Free Download

Here is another Valentine’s Day Project! I made these giant Valentine posters 5 years ago and we thought it would be fun to put together another version that people could download. It is so easy, you just download the files and take it to your nearest Kinkos and print it out giant for $5 on their giant copy machines. I like the idea that these could stay up for a while even after Valentine’s Day is over. See all the instructions and details below!

Materials Needed: Download the images right here, Kinkos

Step 1: Download the six poster images and print out or else email the files to your nearest Kinkos.
Step 2: At Kinkos print out the images in giant poster size (each one should be about $5.)
Step 3: Fold up and give to someone you love.

Hello, Jordan and friends! I’m a big fan of your work. Thank you for inspiring creativity in the everyday. I’m fascinated by your use of Kinkos to print large images. What a great idea. Would you be willing to share a tutorial or tips for how you create the images/files that are suitable for printing at large sizes? I noticed that the images you made for this post are PDFs, but did you start with images at a certain resolution? What is the minimum file size one would need to be able to print something large-scale? Sorry for all the questions (maybe you can do a full on blog post with the answers?). Thank you!

I think there needs to be a “Ginger Peachy” poster. My best friend and I love that expression from Meet Me in St Louis. 🙂 xo

Hi, Jordan, I LOVE this idea! I want to print one for my husband for Valentine’s Day. When I look at the Kinko’s site online, it looks like giant posters are much more expensive than $5. What am I missing?? Thank you!

Call your nearest kinkos. Ask about the costs for the black and white large format printers. They should be about $5.

Jordan: Thanks for sharing this awsomeness. I’d love to hear from others who try this. It might be my kinkos (Millbrae) but they charged me 3x as much (altho 3x $5 is still a huge bargain) and had a hard time understanding the file. Said it was an “8 1/2 x 11 booklet.” General confusion all around. BUT! I did eventually walk out with a great big Come Hither poster for $15, so – thank you! Just wondering if I did something wrong and made the whole thing more complicated.

These are so lovely but I have been technologically challenged 🙁
I sent the PDF to a printing company in Norway and they told me the dimensions were 20 cm x 20 cm…does anyone have any advice as to how I download them with higher resolution?

Just for people’s info – I’m from Canada and I printed the I LIKE YOU poster 24″ x 24″ at my local Staples (asked for the “blueprint”). There was a bit of confusion (probably because I tried to do it online and there wasn’t a selection for what I wanted online so I just wrote what I wanted in the notes.) Anyway, I got my poster for $2!! Highly recommend and am so excited to give to my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day! 🙂 Thanks Jordan!

I just wanted to say that I found printing these through Staples was much easier. Just select “engineering prints” from their copy and print section. I got all 6 at 24×36 for $20.

Nice to see a change from the sort of stuff you usually see on Valentine’s Day! To those saying they don’t know where or how to print them, you’re never that far from a professional printing company who can do the job for you and make sure the posters are done justice.
