Alt Summit 2012
I had such a great time at Alt Summit last week. It was so inspiring to be around such positive people. I came away so excited to work hard and collaborate with other people. If you are wanting to connect with other bloggers and brands it is the best event out there. It is a really warm and welcoming place even if you don’t know many people. There are all kinds of lunches and dinners and workshops that put you in small intimate groups so you can meet and get to know people. I also loved staying up late in the lobby or hotel bar where I got to talk with people until the wee hours of the morning. I highly recommend attending if you are looking to network with other bloggers and learn about the business of blogging.
I didn’t take very many pictures but there are so many great round ups that I thought I would link to a few.
Sarah Bryden Brown is the smartest person on the internet, here are her observations.
Nicole put together a summary of our panel made up of people’s tweets.
Some of the prettiest business cards at Alt, talk about pressure!
People did their hair all fancy.
Lisa Congdon has a great recap.
From a dude’s point of view. (They were few and far between but we loved all of them!)
I’m honored to have my picture taken by Karen Waldron. You can win one of her beautiful posters here.

yay! i was so happy hanging out with you! xo
Is that a coaster? The goodie bag items from the Alt Summit are clearly more fun than the items at professional conferences in my own field. Beautiful!
So jealous! I wish I could have gone!!!!
Thanks for the link Jordan – isn’t it crazy how creative people got with cards this year?! LOVED getting to finally hang out with you in person and hope we get to do it again soon. Enjoy your last few months in Paris! xx

Thanks, Jordan!
A pleasure to meet and chat with you!
I really wanted to go, but with baby J still nursing and being kind of little, I just couldn’t do it. Next year though I am totally in!
I agree with Leigh from the second comment! I get books on politics
hahaha. I actually hope to attend in 2014. Can’t go in 2013 because I’ll be moving to Europe for grad school. I seriously have already quasi requested off for Alt in 2014 at work!!
While it was so good to see you, my wish for next year is to have even more conversation with you! I am so inspired by what you do. xo
This looks like such a great event. I’m really enjoying reading about it through various blogs and perspectives.

This summary is great! Thanks so much for sharing.
I’ve been hearing the most amazing things about Alt Summit this year, your write-up confirms that
I do hope I’ll one day have the chance to attend!!
It’s so silly that I live in Utah and don’t go to alt! Looks so inspiring!
Really sounds awesome. Even as a non-attendee, I can see how so many bloggers I follow took the message to heart and their blogs are better already. Thinking already of keeping my eye out for registration next year!
I was thrilled to meet you! Oh Happy (birth)Day! Again. xo
I saw distracted by the sweet-rose buds on my way to doing this: thank you for this Alt Summery. Baby-blogger (one month old blog) myself — there is SO much to learn and that I am curious about; your post gave a very good, broad insight to someone like me. Thank you for taking the time. Really! I’ll return to this for a few views… and notes!
…Happy Birthday?!
Hello! Alt sounds fun! And I think I might’ve missed this, but who designed the coasters? They’re amazing, and remind me of Jessica Hische’s work.
very helpful. thanks for sharing the links. I wasn’t sure who was reporting what on Alt, but this pointed me in the right direction.
Thanks for the recap! Wish I could go so it is fun to see and read about some of the highlights:)!
Thanks for the lovely shout-out, Jordan!
It might be worth going to Alt just for the coasters. Beautiful!
My sister and her fiance want to make or have letterpress coasters made for their save-the-date. This one is gorgeous. Can you suggest either a machine or someone they could send their order to? Thank you!
Very cool! I’ve read about previous Alt Summits from other bloggers!
SO, I came over here b/c I read the “50 things to do in SF with kids” post elsewhere, and wanted to comment there, but it seemed closed… The Gold Discovery park is in Coloma, not Colma, which is what is published. Very different places! Plus, that’s at least a 2.5 hour drive from SF, heck of a day trip! ;p
Cheers.
that coaster breaks my heart! i need one haha. contact the summit and mailchimp (who produced them) but no extras to be found.
I love that sock bun tutorial from Liz Stanley – too cute!!
