Happy Weekend!

Change is hard and scary sometimes but it is usually worth it. I was just mentioning to Paul how happy I was that we decided to move to Paris. We’ve met so many interesting people with good hearts. There really is no substitution for the awesome things that come by putting yourself out of your comfort zone. I’m feeling really really lucky this week. Lots of fun things going on this weekend here: a picnic in the garden of the Louvre with church, a jaunt up to Versailles to check out this amazing event (Paul says I’m not allowed to buy any carousels–he knows me too well), and a couple small dinner parties. Anything fun going on in your neck of the woods? Happy Weekend!

I also write for Babble.com. Here are my posts this week!

The best costumes for babies. (Seriously, the sushi one by my friend Brooke is genius.)

Have you seen the Stella McCartney for Kids line? It is ah-mazing.

This jewelry is my favorite.

A new Home Goods site from the folks at Fawn & Forest

The most beautiful crib and baby swing. Ever.

This is my favorite kids line and their new stuff is perfect.

Flora and Henri’s ribbed lap-neck tees are the best fitting for my skinny boy with the big head. i definitely recommending sizing up like crazy. My 31 month old is currently wearing size 4 even though he’s still in 18-24 month Boden tees. They are so worth the price, and you can usually get them for 10-15% off with their coupon codes.

    Hi Jordan,
This isn’t really a comment on your post –although your “Happy Weekend” on Friday always reminds me to start transitioning to a weekend state of mind!

This is a random question, but I’ve looked and looked on your blog and can’t find this. Maybe 9 months ago you did a cross link or photo shoot or posting with a friend of yours who does styling for clothing retailers. She was doing LLBean’s Signature line and there we’re pictures of her wearing some of the clothes in anticipation of a trip.

You linked to her blog where she had entries about how she styles her own clothes, including notably, how she made a big floppy lapel flower out of a scarf.

Does any of this sound familiar? I’m 99% sure I saw the link on your blog, I can’t remember the woman’s name and I really wanted to start following her.

If you can’t remember, don’t worry about it – at least my search through your blog brought back happy ideas, including your 2010 year in review post!

    Thanks for the fun!

You are such an inspiration to me to just DO what you love. And not let other things get in the way of it. I feel like so many people would have made excuses for why not to move to Paris.

Just this week we accepted a job in Germany…after many tears and indecision about uprooting our little family and leaving for 3 years, we’re now so excited!! I feel we would have regretted it forever had we not taken the leap. Moving this March…now to figure out how to do the rest (rent the house, move our pets, visas, etc., etc.).

Thanks for sharing your adventures Jordan!

oh my goodness. I am so jealous. Just seeing the display at Versailles would be utterly amazing, but imagine the lucky people who get to own some of those pieces. I need to go to Paris asap.

Lovely post and lovely picture. It’s so nice that you’re having such a fantastic time in Paris – Life is for living and you’re certainly doing that, so well done you! 🙂

I’ve been having a wonderful weekend so far. My sister has visited London for her birthday so we went to the new Coach store and purchased beautiful things and then generally ran around eating at Fortnum’s and then drank a bucket-load of champagne – my brain is going to punish me for that tomorrow, but at the moment I’m wearing the ‘blanket of booze’ and feel invincible! Hahaha

I have *just* discovered your blog and the first thing I see is that you have moved to live in Paris for a year – this is a dream of mine! So, you have me!

I’m currently reading Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard, who was a New Yorker that met and married a French man – I’m loving it. So, completely excited that I can now live vicariously through you too!

Jordan, that it so timely and on the money that it’s going up on the kitchen blackboard. We’re getting ready to make a move ourselves, and I’ve been thinking about how to bolster the kids’ spirits. You just contributed a piece to that puzzle. Thank you for leading by example!

That’s exactly how I feel, two years after moving to San Francisco. So, so worth it.

It’s foggy and cold here this weekend, so we’re baking pumpkin cookies and watching movies and walking the dog in the rain!

what a dream to live in Paris. It’s one of my favorite, cities in the world. Winter time is particularly spectacular and romantic. I wouldn’t trade the world for my European living experience, it truly is magical.
