My friend from college, Mark Allen, offered to help me move my blog from blogger to wordpress last year. I suspect he may have regretted that offer a few times over the last few months as he worked late into the night on programming the new site. I wanted to do something for him to say thanks so we’ve been sending treats to his office everyday. My trusty studio manager Alexis helped me put these together. Day 1: was Root Beer. I had Alexis go to BevMo (my favorite place to get vintage brand sodas) and pick up 12 different kind of Root Beer. (I was inspired by Erin Jang’s brilliant Root Beer gift back here.) The drink carriers were free from BevMo and the crate is a CD Crate from JoAnn’s but it was the perfect size and made the gift look a little polished and legit.
This would be a great idea for Father’s Day.

To celebrate five years of blogging on Oh Happy Day I’m giving away a trip to Paris! See the rules and how to enter right over here. (The comments weren’t opening yesterday because of a bug but now they should be working fine.)

How fun would it be to do a root beer float party. Or have a root beer float station at a BBQ or something.

I love this idea. We don’t drink “real” beer, but a six pack of root beer is a great father’s day idea. So, original and classic.
Now I am craving some good ole’ root beer. 🙂

A few years ago I did a Root Beer of the month club for Father’s Day. It was such a hit. Each month we got 2 different six-packs of root beer to test out. It was one of my favorite gifts I’ve given!

I think root beer is great, but we recently had some German friends visiting and when we had them give it a try for the first time they both agreed, “This tastes like something we’d put in the bath water!” They don’t know what they’re missing 😉
By the way, what a great giveaway! Very cool for that lucky winner!
