Birthday Surprise in the Mail

Last month for Aubrey’s birthday I organized a surprise for her. We blew up a picture of her and cut it down into cards, 112 to be exact. Then I sent them to her family and friends all over the world with instructions to send them back with love notes and drawings. The whole week of her birthday she kept getting cards from friends and family like pieces of a puzzle. It turned out really great. Not all of the cards made it back but we knew that would happen and I kind of like that some got lost or forgotten.

The picture is of her brilliant burglar costume from last Halloween.

(POST EDIT: Here are the instructions.)

Such a great idea and I am SO happy that you posted this… My daughter created one of these wall puzzles for me for my 50th birthday and I LOVE it!!! I've posted about it on my blog today and linked back to your original post here. Thanks for inspiring my daughter with this lovely gift idea! It's been amazing so far.
