This is my love letter to Paper Mart. I first discovered them when I was planning my own wedding 10 years ago and was instantly in love. Because everything was so affordable, for the first time in my life I could buy giant rolls of ribbon instead of the the teeny tiny rolls at the craft store. When I would wrap presents I would use ribbon with abandon. I think it was one of the first online purchases I ever made. All of a sudden I had all these raw craft supplies in bulk and cheap at my disposal. I’m not being melodramatic when I say it changed everything. My unbiased support for them is well-documented the last 9 years on this blog. It’s the best source to get affordable boxes, ribbons, crepe paper and tissue paper. And that’s just the beginning. They also are quick, their shipments go out daily so I get my packages within a day or two of ordering. Last year Paper Mart reached out to me about collaborating together and I couldn’t imagine a more ideal partner for Oh Happy Day. It also is gratifying when as a small business you support a brand and then they support you back. Anyway, after all these years Paper Mart is the still my favorite place to get ribbon, boxes for packaging, tissue paper, and crepe paper. What can I say, it’s a love affair. It’s the best time of the year! I love Valentine’s Day because I love to do surprises and and give gifts for all the people in my life. Here is a funny (PG-13) Valentine you can make for your lover. It made me laugh. It’s really easy to make, we just removed the “BANG’ flag from a gimmick gun (you can get them here or from a joke store) and then get some fabric the same size and make a “BANG ME” flag and glue it in. It took about 15 minutes to make. When your lover pulls the trigger a flag unfurls with a special message.

I usually like to make these crackers around Christmas time, but this year I thought it would be fun to mix it up and make some as Valentines instead. These are such a fun surprise for friends. You can fill them with funny love notes and treats. When you pull on each side of the crackers, they snap open and all the goodies pop out. I’m a huge fan of Lindt LINDOR Truffles: they are my favorite chocolates to give during holidays and they fit perfectly inside these crackers (especially with their pretty red and pink packaging!) I also things these would be cute place settings at a Valentines Day feast! Find the full instructions, sources and more photos below! (PS – These would work great as Valentine’s necklaces too!)

“Love is in the air” literally – when you hang this cursive banner. Let someone know you love them! Using different shades of pinks and reds adds a Valentine’s flair, but you can use any colors you’d like. Wouldn’t “you are my sunshine” in golden and pale yellow yarns be so sweet in a newborn’s nursery? If you have extra sting, make additional words to decorate valentine gifts. Or write the recipient’s name for an amazing name tag! The words are easy to affix to a package with glue or washi tape. PS – How perfect would this banner look paired with this?
