Have you heard of Kiwi Crate? They sell these cool green boxes filled with crafting projects for kids that they ship right to your house. I have heard of this concept before but was so impressed with the quality of the execution. They are really well done! A new crate arrives directly to your doorstep each month and includes two different crafts. We’ve tried a few of them and they are awesome. The one below is the Colorful Inspiration Kit. Moses and I did a stained glass project that he then hung in our kitchen window and looked at it with the 3-D glasses included. In the box there were enough supplies for them to make three times (perfect for siblings.) The other project in the box were these tops you could color. The kids colored them with the markers included and then played with them for an hour. It was great. The kids loved the process of making something with their hands and I loved that it didn’t require an extra trip to the store for supplies. What impressed me most about Kiwi Crate were two things. 1. These were cool projects that my kids actually want to make and 2. The kits are cheaper than if I went to the store and bought all the materials myself. I highly recommend this! They have a new line of kits that are perfect for summer or for special occasions when you need projects to entertain children.

We had a simple party for Roman. I made some hats and streamers for him over the weekend and then we got some eclairs from the bakery down the street. (They are so good!) We let Roman go to town and he ate the whole eclair! He never gets sweets so he was loving it! I’ll post instructions on how to make the streamers and hats later today.
One year ago I gave birth to Roman. We love him to the stars.
Now that Roman is pretty much recovered and The Commission Project is done (we dropped off the paintings to be mailed this morning) we can actually focus on the Holidays. I’m still trying to figure out how I can make a big impact on Christmas morning but not buy anything we have to put in storage or take with us to France. Any ideas?
What are you doing this weekend? Here are pictures of Roman from this week when he was feeling like his old self. It’s crazy to compare where he was 2 weeks ago to now. ps Babble links below
I also write for Babble.com Here are my posts from this week.
These are hilarious (Look at the froggy’s face.)
I kind of want to get one of these for Moses, Could I make one myself?
New Martha Stewart Crafting Furniture. Now you can have a craft room that looks like Martha’s.
I’ve been obsessed with these since last year. I want some for my boys.
These are the best “quiet toys”. I use them on the plane or at church and they totally work.
Best “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament I’ve ever seen.
Roman was in a cheery mood last night so I started to get a little festive and wrap up some gifts for family and friends. Christmas is the one time when all the wrapping paper and ribbon and little boxes that I needlessly collect over the year get validated. I’m getting a post ready with my favorite wrapping and ribbon sources. Check back tomorrow.
