World Cup Swizzel Sticks

by Ashley Page Norton

Is everyone watching the World Cup? For me, this summer will be remembered as very World Cup focused – I’ve loved watching as many games as I can get to. It’s sad that the U.S. is out but there are still some amazing games left to watch – the remaining four teams play this week to determine who’s in the final on July 13th! Here is a quick way to make some soccer ball drink stirrers to use at a viewing party. They come together easily, despite having a tricky shape (the pentagon) on the ball!

Handmade Confetti and DIY Confetti Throwers

Sometimes store bought confetti doesn’t come in the right colors for the party we are having, in that case we make our own handmade confetti. It is really easy to make, I just throw on a movie while I cut. For this project I used a trick I learned in Paris where you just fill a plastic tube with confetti and hand them out to all your guests. With just a flick of the wrist the confetti propels out of the tube and goes everywhere. Perfect for surprise parties or weddings! The tissue paper at Paper Mart has always been my favorite. It comes in the best colors and is so affordable.

Giant Paper Bead Garland

by Ashley Page Norton

I love making simple necklaces out of beads (evidence here) and often have my crafty friends over to work on jewelry projects. This garland would be perfect decor for a jewelry crafternoon but it’s so bright and graphic it could work for just about anything. These mega versions of my favorite seed beads come together quickly using whatever paper you have on hand. If you love stringing beads together this will be right up your alley!

4th of July Dynamite Garland DIY

by Chiara Alberetti Milott

Sticks of dynamite can light up any 4th of July party – or make a bright backdrop for a photobooth. My boys rarely comment on the crafts I make, but this one got a lot of love. I think they thought it had something to do with Angry Birds. Boom! (PS – More 4th of July Ideas!)

Oh Baby Tablecloth DIY

by Chiara Alberetti Milott

Have a baby shower coming up?  I conquered my fear of cutting out felt letters with the simple trick of printing out the letters, then cutting the paper and cloth together. This project took several nights worth of sewing, but in the end, looks so pretty – plus can be passed on to the next sister, cousin, or friend’s baby shower! Of course, if a baby boy is on the way, switch to blues and greens, or if you’re waiting with bated breath to find out the sex of the baby – yellows will do the trick!
