Ladurée, The Unboxing

Ladurée is the best known macaron bakery in Paris. It is famous for inventing the double decker macaron cookies. (Supposedly they sell 15,000 cookies everyday!) There are a few locations all over Paris but the one on Rue Royale is right where we make a bus transfer so we’ve gotten in the habit of picking up a box in the mornings and then later that day at the park we unpackage the little treats and take turns trying each flavor. The packaging is really incredible, the bag, box, and even the napkin are gorgeous quality. Unboxing these little cookies is exciting every single time. I’ve tried lots of macarons but these are by far the best.

I still have all Laduree boxes, I just cannot throw them… too pretty!
Sometimes I think it is not too bad that we are not in
Paris anymore because I cant resist… macarons, pain au chocolat, croissant aux amandes et et et…
and I see your kid likes them too… nice… mine love them as well…
    happy week end

One of my favourite things about Paris is how stores package even simple things in special ways.

Good heavens….if I spent a year in Paris, it would mean 50 lbs and 5 extra years in the gym. Drooling.

Are these better than the ones you recommended that we enjoyed at the SF ferry terminal? Just asking?

I live in southwest FL and there is a genuine, real deal, french pastry shop nearby called "Le Macaron". They are to die for! I never want to share them when I buy them!

I LOVE Laduree, but have you tried Le Notre? It's in the 7eme (close to where you're living, I think) on La Motte Piquet near Rue Cler. They were our favorite macarons when we were there. Their packaging is divine, too. As fantastic as the macarons are, you have to order "le divorce". Yum!

I agree with La Parisienne… Le Notre has really great macarons and beautiful packaging, also. I had never tried a macaron before living in Paris, so whenever I have one it takes me back there. What a fun treat for you to all enjoy them in the park together.

My parents just came home from Paris and brought us a box of Macaroons from laduree.

It was heaven. Lemon is my favorite, and the caramel will send you into a sweet coma. Love them, all of them.

    Enjoy.

We have a Laduree in Zurich and occasionally we indulge. But I always cringe a bit when my boys gulp down a 3 franc macaroon in one bite and ask for another. Those are some pricey treats but irresistible.

aw Ladurée. This is what I miss most about living in London. There is a Ladurée store on Piccadilly.

Now I'm back in Sydney, I've been sampling the macarons trying to find a Ladurée substitute. Nobody even comes close yet!

One of my favorite things about Paris is Laduree! I love the raspberry macarons and their pain au chocolate literally just melts in your mouth. Mmmm! I have actually contemplated hopping on a plane and coming for a few days just so I can have some! My husband said that wasn't a valid reason for flying to Paris, but I think he was thinking about it too!

We just passed through the CDG airport on our way to Florence and Laduree had a little cart in the middle of the terminal, which I couldn't resist–even the cart is gorgeous! Though I'm having a fabulous time in Tuscany I can't wait to pass through CDG again to buy more macaroons. Yum!

So I've never had a macaron (still!) but we're headed to Paris in October. Everyone's always walking about how fantastic they are, but part of me wants to wait until France and have the most amazing one ever for my first… or maybe just order some online now and gorge myself on them one evening…

*big sigh* 5 years of French and I've yet to put it to use… I've been positively craving France lately. I hope to finally get there soon… & after seeing this, the first thing I do will probably be go to Laduree!

Being in India right now is marvelous.. but ah, to be in Paris! <3
