We are heading out to Yosemite with some friends this weekend, I’m squeezing all the summer out of the next few weeks: camping, outdoor parties, picnics! Yosemite should be fun but I’m scared of the bears! Have a good weekend, I’ll see you on Monday if I’m not eaten by bears.

I'm jealous of your trip to Yosemite, I love it there so much! You really do need to watch out for the bears, we see a few every time we go and I don't sleep quite as soundly knowing I might have a bear exploring my campsite!
The cake paintings are beautiful, you and Paul need to collaborate more often, you make a great team!

I love that album, too. I'll admit that we listen to Flood a lot with our 17-month-old, too. She likes "Triangle Man."
While we're talking kids' albums, if you haven't listened to Elizabeth Mitchell's You are my Little Bird, you really should. I checked it out from the library because I liked the cover. Now I want her to make a grownups' album. It's folk songs, a Velvet Underground cover (nice!), Neil Young, Vashti Bunyan, and generally happy and beautiful. Your aesthetic tells me you'd like it as much as I do.

yosemite is awesome. we saw three bears last year, tw were teeny-tiny cubs and a mean mama bear. i'm sure we would of gotten along fine had she not been threatened by our car.
we saw a big one this year. they're wonderful.
we spent one week this time camping at hogden meadows with our kids. our baby loved it. every night we heated water in the camp fire so we could clean her off. our 4 year old son was super stoked he didn't have to shower for a whole week.
