Fall

Have you used Polyvore yet? It is super addictive. I feel like I’m dressing my Barbie or something. {My parents wouldn’t let me have a Barbie, I clearly still have issues.} These outfits aren’t perfect–it turns out if you are bad at coordinating outfits in real life you’ll also have a hard time doing it on your computer screen. Anyway, these are the kind of outfits I have been wearing/been excited about for Fall. I was surprised at how boring I dress even when given the choice to wear anything. My favorites for this fall are:

1. Thick opaque tights paired with summer dresses.
2. Lots of herringbone blazers {my friends hooked me up at this sample sale}
3. A cape–I don’t own this yet–I’m on the lookout
4. These “shooties” {I hate that word} I want these!
5. Pencil skirts
6. Bright Corduroy Pants

Two questions.
What are you wearing this fall? and
How do I better accessorize?

see links to items here.

urban outfitters are selling the shooties (i hate the word too) and lucky magazine has a 25% off code for the site. retailmenot.com should have the code.

In the fall, I just throw on a scarf with basically EVERY outfit… It makes it a tad more interesting (especially since sweaters and coats tend to come in primarily solids) and keeps ya warm!

i love the outfit combos. they are right up my alley. accessory’s are my down fall. i can never get it right so i go without normally, but i do love a good scarf. it can dress up even a plain tee.

    Yay! I love polyvore!

This fall, I am all about textures – wool, cord, silk, cashmere – and colors you would find in a peacock feather. It’s cold where I live, so I always layer – thin dresses over turtlenecks and tights, cardigans, scarves. Accessories are the fun part – polyvore is perfect for playing around with ideas. I like to add more things than i think I need, than take things away, or add them back, until I find just the right mix.

I am still wearing the bright tights with dark dresses that we saw last year. I got some hot pink ones and royal blue ones at Nordstrom’s Half Yearly sale and I love them. I’ve been wearing them with my Kate Spade patent black pumps.

Also, I like mixing bold purple with any other bold color, such as the following:
    lime green
    red
    gold

Actually anything purple, anything gold =)

No barbies? How come? I think we had 40 or something between my sisters and I. I need to play on ployvore and relive my barbie days.

Accessories are my weakness too… sometimes I feel like they don’t look good on me but I feel boring without. I am loving cardigans, cardigans, cardigans and cute coats and scarves.

    LOVE your outfits!

I’ve only heard them pronounced “shabooties”. Way more fun to say. Sounds like a dance.

    sha-sha-sha bootie!

My 10 and 14 year old daughters are totally addicted to polyvore. I’m thankful, I think there are far worse things to be taken with on the internet.

Thanks a lot you temptress, now I am obsessed with the shooties and have to have them!
My mom gave away my barbies without telling me, it is devastating to this day…

I think colored tights are perfect for fall and for bringing in color. I’m also wanting to get more into hair accessories…small hats maybe?? fall dressing is way more interesting than cold winter….

I had Barbies, but I wasn’t really happy until they got me the head thingthat you could put makeup on. Boy I loved that thing. I am sure that finding this site is a dangerous thing for me. I’m putting off signing on until I have a good long bit of time to spend on it!

I’ve been seeing style blogs using this, but not known what it is. It is going to be hard to wait until tonight to use it at home. Thanks for the excellent link!

I’m wearing lots of gray, jewel tones, bright pops of mustard yellow, black (of course), with snug cardigans, flirty skirts, black and colored tights, cute heels and boots, and fun scarves. At least I try to most days, depending on how much time I have in the morning.

For accessorizing, I just pick something interesting that I like and that is unique, and it always work. Much like decorating my house, if I just stick with what I love, it somehow all works together. Just don’t wear everything at once!

    I recently bought these watchamacallits:

    http://www.shopcoclico.com/detail.htm?designer=coclico&item=Ophelia%20black&product=booties&skip=28

And I wear them with Look from London tights.

Gulp, I feel like I just committed a mortal sin.
