Easy Dinner Party: Fondue

I had some friends over for fondue last week {my favorite recipe}. It is an easy dinner party. Just cut up all the dipping foods before hand: bread, cherry tomatoes, ham, pears, etc. Then serve a simple salad for first course and then it takes ten minutes to prepare the fondue for a second course {grate the cheese before hand}. I bought tarts from a local bakery for a quick dessert.

We always decide before we eat what the penalty will be for losing your food in the fondue. This time we had to tell an embarrassing kissing story. Fortunately I never dropped anything, only our guests did.

Yay, fondue! I have great memories of family parties with fondue, as a kid. My Mom just gave me the old fondue set, complete with the coloured skewers I liked to played with, so the mister and I can share that fun with my daughter Enid. 🙂

I love fondue, but can’t for the life of me figure out how to make it without it turning out rubbery.
